Description

These glow-in-the-dark candy popcorn bombs are a glowing, crunchy, kid-approved party treat. Easy to make, sweet to eat, and they light up under a blacklight for unforgettable fun!

Ingredients

Scale

8 cups popped popcorn

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup light corn syrup

1/4 cup water

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon tonic water (for glow effect)

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

edible glow-in-the-dark sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

2. Add the popped popcorn to a large bowl, discarding any unpopped kernels.

3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar, light corn syrup, water, and salt. Stir until sugar fully dissolves.

4. Allow the mixture to boil until it reaches 250°F (hard-ball stage) on a candy thermometer.

5. Remove from heat and quickly whisk in vanilla extract, tonic water, baking soda, and neon food coloring. The mixture will foam, so be cautious!

6. Immediately pour the candy coating over the popcorn and use a spatula to mix until evenly coated.

7. Butter your hands and shape the coated popcorn into balls while it’s still warm.

8. Place popcorn balls onto the prepared baking sheet and, if desired, sprinkle with glow-in-the-dark edible sprinkles.

9. Let them cool completely before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Use neon food coloring for extra vibrant glow.

Serve under blacklight for maximum effect.

Store in airtight container up to 2 days.

Butter hands well before shaping to avoid sticking.
